Acceptable use policy

Effective 16 October 2026

1. Scope

This Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) applies to every RMDHost service, including VPS, dedicated, game, edge and storage services, and to everyone who uses them through your account. It forms part of our Terms of Service. You are responsible for all activity on your services, including activity by your users, customers and anyone who gains access to them.

2. Illegal and harmful content

You must not host, store, transmit or link to: child sexual abuse material (reported to the authorities immediately); malware, ransomware or exploit kits intended for unauthorised use; stolen data, credentials or payment cards; phishing pages or fraudulent shops; content that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights; content that incites violence or terrorism; or any other material that is illegal where it is hosted or where it is aimed.

3. Network abuse

You must not use our network to: launch or sell DDoS attacks, “stressers” or “booters”; scan ports or probe other networks without the owner’s permission; spoof IP addresses or forge packet headers; break into or interfere with any system; operate botnet command-and-control servers; or run open resolvers, open proxies, open relays or other services that can be abused for amplification. Security testing is allowed only on systems you own or have written permission to test.

4. Email and spam

You must not send unsolicited bulk email or messages, or host websites advertised through spam. Mailing lists must be opt-in, include a working unsubscribe link and honour requests promptly. Purchased, rented or scraped lists are not permitted. If an IP address is blocklisted because of activity on your service, you must fix the cause before we request delisting.

5. Resource use

Use resources within your plan and our Fair Use Policy. Cryptocurrency mining, proof-of-space farming and similar sustained full-load workloads are not permitted on VPS, cloud or game server plans without our written approval; they are allowed on dedicated servers. Do not try to get around plan limits, licence checks or account restrictions.

6. Game servers

Game servers must follow the game publisher’s end-user licence and server rules. Do not host cheat distribution, account trading fraud or stolen game assets. Mods, plugins and maps must be properly licensed. Attacks on other game servers, including from your own players, must be reported to us and stopped.

7. Your security responsibilities

Keep operating systems and software up to date, use strong passwords or SSH keys, close ports you do not need and remove unused accounts. If your service is compromised, you must clean it up promptly. We may help, and we may restrict the service until it is safe.

8. Copyright and complaints

Send copyright notices and other complaints to [email protected] with the affected URL or IP address, the material concerned, evidence of your rights and your contact details. We forward valid complaints to the customer responsible and may remove access to clearly unlawful material.

9. How we enforce this policy

When we receive a credible report or detect abuse, we usually contact you first and give you a reasonable time to fix the problem. For serious or ongoing harm, such as active attacks, malware, phishing or child abuse material, we may null-route an IP address or suspend the service immediately. Repeated or severe breaches can lead to termination under our Terms of Service. We co-operate with law enforcement where the law requires.

10. Reporting abuse

Report abuse to [email protected]. Include the IP address or domain, the date and time with timezone, logs or headers showing the activity, and how we can contact you. Please do not include passwords or other secrets.
